Who am I?

My name is Dom, or Dominic, whichever you prefer. I am a mental health counselor in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, as well as a movie buff, short-story writer, and new father. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me enjoying a good movie or TV show with my family, watching English soccer or American football, or attempting to find the motivation to go for a run with my dog.

During my teenage years, I quietly struggled with anxiety and depression. On the outside, I appeared outgoing, but inside, I was holding much of it in. It was difficult to open up, even with supportive people around me. Over time, through intentional self-reflection and learning to reach out, I built a strong, supportive community of people I can lean on and show up for in return.

That experience shapes how I show up as a counselor. I strive to be a steady, supportive presence where you feel heard, safe, and understood. Whether you already have a dedicated support system or feel like you are navigating things on your own, I will be there for you.

The Work

To me, therapy is about having a space where you can fully be yourself without judgment or criticism about how you are living your life. We will explore the many aspects of your experience, discovering hidden strengths while also addressing the struggles that may be holding you back. Together, we will identify ways to move forward in a meaningful and sustainable way.

My approach integrates person-centered therapy with dialectical behavior therapy and acceptance and commitment-based practices. These approaches help you regain a sense of control, build resilience, and develop self-compassion. In our work together, we will identify unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and relationship dynamics, while working toward meaningful change aligned with your goals.

Why Work with Me

In our work together, you can expect an environment grounded in empathy, acceptance, and genuine curiosity about your experience. I believe meaningful change happens within a safe, trusting relationship, one where you feel heard, respected, and free to show up as you are.

I work with children, teens, and adults navigating the impacts of depression, anxiety, trauma, difficult relationship dynamics, and major life transitions. Wherever you find yourself, we will move at your pace, honoring your story while gently exploring new ways to understand, cope, and grow.

Our sessions will be collaborative and centered around you. I will bring presence, openness, and honest reflection, while trusting in your capacity for insight and change. Together, we will explore what matters most to you and shape a path forward that feels meaningful and sustainable.

Where you are right now is a valid and worthy place to begin. When you are ready, I am here to walk alongside you.
