Who’s This Therapist, Really?

I’m Tanji Wendorff, MA, LPCC and U.S. Air Force veteran and trauma-informed clinician. I show up as a grounded, straightforward human first—someone who has navigated transitions, complicated family dynamics, and the pressure to be “the strong one.” Those experiences shape how I sit with clients: with honesty, clarity, and a respect for the messy, real parts of being human. I’m especially drawn to people who are tired of repeating the same relational patterns and are ready for something different.

The Stuff We Tackle Together

I work with adults and teens navigating codependency, adult children of alcoholics or addicts (ACOA) experiences, and the long-lasting impact of growing up in chaotic or emotionally unpredictable environments. Many of my clients spent their childhoods managing others’ emotions, trying to keep the peace, or learning to take responsibility far too early.

I also support clients working through trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity shifts, and major life transitions. Whether you’re trying to set healthier boundaries, understand old patterns, or reconnect with parts of yourself you’ve pushed down, we take the work step by step, in an intentful manner, while workingn directly, honestly, and with intention.

How the work happens?

My approach is grounded, relational, and focused on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface. I integrate EMDR, CBT, Psychodynamic therapy, and IFS to support clients in making sense of their patterns, shifting old survival strategies, and building new ways of relating to themselves and others.

EMDR helps us process the stuck places that still live in your body. CBT offers practical tools for noticing and shifting unhelpful thoughts. Psychodynamic work helps uncover the roots of long-standing emotional and relational themes. IFS helps us understand the different “parts” of you that show up in stress, protection, or conflict.

I’m not here to offer quick fixes or pretend the process is always easy. But I am here to show up with you—steady, honest, and invested in helping you move toward real, sustainable change.

Veterans, You’re Not Alone

As a veteran myself, I understand the complicated mix of pride, pressure, and identity shifts that come with service–and leaving it. You won’t have to explain the basics, minimize your experience, or worry about being misunderstood. We explore the impact of service, reintegration, relationships, and the parts of the story that often get buried. This is a space for honesty, grounding, and reconnecting with a sense of self.

What You Can Expect

People often describe me as warm, grounded, and straightforward. I don’t sit back silently, and I don’t pretend the work is always comfortable. I show up with you, stay curious, and help you explore the deeper layers of your experience with clarity and compassion. Therapy with me is a genuine conversation. Together we’ll focus on awareness, change, and building a more honest, sustainable relationship with yourself.

Wherever you are right now is the perfect place to start. Let’s connect!
